What it is, honestly
- A written guide (PDF, 14 pages, plus a Markdown copy). You create the accounts and click through the settings yourself.
- Not a one-click import, not a hosted service, and not software we run for you.
- Built for US and Canadian numbers, with notes for the UK and EU.
- Not legal advice. It explains the texting rules in plain language, but you're responsible for how you use texting.
How the finished setup works
A call is missed
Your phone forwards unanswered or busy calls to a Twilio number you own.
A short greeting
The caller hears that you're texting them now. Optional voicemail.
The text goes out
A Make.com scenario checks the number, skips duplicates, and sends your message.
Replies reach you
If they text back, the reply is forwarded to your mobile.
What's inside
- Setting up Twilio and choosing a number
- Registering for business texting (US A2P 10DLC), which you should start first
- The call greeting, with an optional voicemail version
- Building the Make.com scenario module by module, including duplicate protection, a "don't text again within 12 hours" rule, and automatic retries
- Connecting your Twilio number to the scenario
- Forwarding missed calls from your business line (VoIP, mobile and landline)
- Getting customer replies on your own phone
- An eight-point test checklist
- A troubleshooting table
- Texting rules in plain language
Plus ready-to-edit message templates, a quick-reference card, and an alternative way to send the text if the Twilio module in Make changes.
What you'll need

- A Twilio account and a Make.com account (both have free starting options)
- About 60 to 90 minutes, plus waiting time for US texting registration, which can take days to weeks
- A second phone for testing
